Tarot de Besançon Gaudais

This unique piece belongs to the tradition of Tarot de Besançon— from the name of the French town where these kinds of cards were originally printed. Produced by Jean Gaudais between 1871 and 1879, this deck is characterized by an original game of symmetries created by a diagonal rope that mirrors the figures displayed in the cards. Being part of the long-lasting—and still wildly popular—French tradition, this deck represents an important branch of the Besançon genealogical tree. As any otherproduct of the Anima Antiqua line, this too is available in a limited edition of 3,999 copies.
